In 2014 the ‘Tour de France’ visited Yorkshire with the "Grand Départ", which was a huge success and highlighted just some of the magnificent scenery that Yorkshire has to offer. Progressing from that event Yorkshire held its inaugural "Tour de Yorkshire" in May 2015.
The event attracted visitors from all over Europe and further afield, proving itself to be a great draw for riders. The race is expected to become the leading cycling event in the UK moving forward and proved popular again in 2016.
