About your host

When I started looking for a pet friendly cottage for a family holiday in North Yorkshire back in 1988, I didn’t think I would be making a life-changing decision. The Pennocks have roots in the North Yorks Moors that go back centuries, and we wanted to find a cosy cottage in the area. We found the Dairy House … and came back every year for 12 years. Then, when we came for our annual holiday in 2000, Lady Kirk, who owned all of Manor Farm, told us the Dairy House was up for sale. Three days later we bought it.

Now, our family stretches from Suffolk and Cambridgeshire to France and the Baltics and four generations enjoy its charms.

The cottage is part of the family, a home from home. That’s why we take so much care to ensure it is always a pleasant, homely place. We want our guests to feel welcomed and to have as many happy memories of holidays in Newton as we do.

Enjoy your stay!
