Whether you’re looking for great family holiday accommodation, or a romantic place for a weekend getaway, The Old Post Office is an ideal self-catering option. A traditional building – The Old Post Office dates back to the turn of the century and is situated amongst some of the UK’s most scenic countryside. Sensitively renovated and with all modern amenities, it has been designed and furnished to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A warm welcome awaits you at The Old Post Office – which is a 4 star Gold Award holiday cottage.

Personal touches include a welcome tray, fresh flowers, wine and toiletries to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Lovely locations – lots to see and do. The Old Post Office is in Thorpe Bassett, a quiet, rural village nestling at the foot of the Wolds, only 1 mile away from the A64. It’s within easy reach of York, Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Moors. Local attractions include Castle Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingoland and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR), of Heartbeat and Harry Potter fame. You can hop onto the NYMR steam train at nearby Pickering. The railway’s route takes in some of the most spectacular views of the moors and surrounding area. This takes you all the way up to the popular destination of Whitby, with its world famous abbey, dramatic coastline and great choice of attractions.
